Stevenson University men’s soccer earned a 1-0 road victory over Notre Dame (Md.) on Sept. 19, 2026, in Baltimore, Md. Blest Dumbuya scored the winning goal in the 54th minute, with Nick Gervase providing the assist.
The victory improved Stevenson to 4-1-1 on the season. The Mustangs recorded nine shots on goal and held Notre Dame (Md.) to two shots on goal.
Blest Dumbuya breaks scoreless tie
Stevenson and Notre Dame (Md.) remained scoreless through halftime. The Mustangs applied offensive pressure throughout the opening half before Dumbuya broke through after the break. Gervase connected with Dumbuya in the 54th minute, and Dumbuya finished the play for the only goal of the match. Dumbuya recorded four shots on goal, while Gervase added the assist.
Kameron Ross and Dumbuya tested the Notre Dame (Md.) goalkeeper early, and Gaston Magrinat-Valdes added a shot on goal in the 14th minute. Jeffrey Tillman’s attempt struck the crossbar in the 40th minute, and Will Dellinger followed with a shot on goal less than two minutes later.
Stevenson defense preserves clean sheet
Stevenson continued to create chances after taking the lead. Dumbuya forced another save in the 64th minute, Ross added a shot on goal in the 84th minute, and Levi Tanguay forced a final save with 23 seconds remaining. Andrew Sindicic and the Stevenson defense preserved the shutout by limiting Notre Dame (Md.) to seven total shots and two shots on goal. Sindicic made two saves across 90 minutes to earn the clean sheet.
Stevenson University men’s soccer returns Wednesday
Stevenson will host The Catholic University of America on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on Owings Mills East. The match will be Stevenson’s next opportunity to build on its 4-1-1 start.
