Stevenson University Men’s Football Falls to Misericordia 28-24 After Rallying From 21-3 Deficit

Stevenson University men’s football rallied from a 21-3 halftime deficit and took a 24-21 lead with 1:17 remaining before falling to Misericordia, 28-24, on September 19, 2026, in Dallas, Pa. The loss left Stevenson University at 2-1 overall and 1-1 in MAC play.

Misericordia answered the late Stevenson surge with an eight-yard touchdown run with 25 seconds remaining. Stevenson could not respond on its final possession.

Stevenson University Men’s Football Builds Second-Half Rally

Stevenson University opened the scoring in the second quarter when Mohammad Butt made a 31-yard field goal. Misericordia scored twice before halftime to take a 21-3 advantage into the break.

The comeback began late in the third quarter when Todd Lattimore connected with Cordell Bair for a five-yard touchdown with 21 seconds remaining. Edward Emmens then capped a six-play, 74-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 21-17.

After the Stevenson defense forced another Misericordia punt, the Mustangs engineered an 85-yard drive. Lattimore found Khari Walker for a 19-yard touchdown with 1:17 remaining, giving Stevenson University its first lead of the game at 24-21.

Misericordia regained the lead on its ensuing possession with the eight-yard touchdown run. Stevenson was unable to mount another scoring drive before the game ended.

Todd Lattimore and Khari Walker Lead Stevenson University Offense

Lattimore completed 26 of 48 passes for 406 yards and two touchdowns while leading Stevenson’s comeback attempt. Walker recorded 11 receptions for 240 yards and one touchdown, including a 66-yard reception and the late touchdown that briefly put Stevenson in front.

Stevenson University finished with 432 total yards, including 406 passing yards and 26 rushing yards. The Mustangs converted seven of 11 third-down opportunities, according to the official game recap.

Stevenson Defense Records Five Sacks

The Stevenson defense recorded five sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Ethan Marshall led the Mustangs with 10 total tackles, while Bryan Bowen added nine.

Brandon Adler, Nickyi Green, Michael Hall and Xavier McKinney each recorded a sack. The defense helped Stevenson regain possession during the second-half rally, but Misericordia’s final drive decided the game.

Stevenson University will return home for its next MAC contest against FDU-Florham on September 26, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Mustang Stadium.
