Salisbury University Women’s Volleyball Team Unveils 2026 Schedule Featuring Six Home Matches and Key Returning Players

The Salisbury University women’s volleyball team announced its 2026 schedule on July 28, highlighting six home games at the Maggs Physical Activities Center and a rigorous slate of tournaments and matches on the road. The Sea Gulls open the season at home on September 1 against Stockton, signaling an ambitious start to their campaign.

Early Season Home Matches and Margie Knight Classic

Salisbury begins with six home games, including the Margie Knight Classic on September 4-5, where they will host Drew, Lebanon Valley, and Muskingum. This early stretch aims to maximize home-court advantage before the Sea Gulls embark on a series of challenging away competitions.

Road Quads and Invitational Tournaments Present Challenges

The team’s early away schedule includes competitive quadrangular tournaments. On September 11-12, the Sea Gulls will compete in Medford, Massachusetts, against Trinity (Texas), Bowdoin, and Tufts. Following that, a September 18-19 quad at Batten University pits them against Benedictine (Illinois) and Batten. The month concludes with another quad on September 25-26 at Swarthmore, facing Widener and DeSales, plus an away match at St. Mary’s (Md.) on September 30.

October Brings Key Conference Action

October features critical matches in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C). Salisbury participates in the C2C Invitational on October 2-3, playing Mary Washington and UC Santa Cruz. The Sea Gulls will play tri-matches at Stevenson on October 10 against Stevenson and Susquehanna, and at Rowan on October 17 versus Rowan and Brooklyn College.

After 16 straight road matches, Salisbury returns home on October 21 for a pivotal C2C match against Christopher Newport. Additional October away games include a contest at Johns Hopkins on October 24 and dual matches in Newport News on October 30-31 against Christopher Newport and Washington & Lee.

Season Concludes with Senior Day and Conference Tournament

The regular season concludes on November 6 with Senior Day at home against Regent. The Sea Gulls will then participate in the C2C Tournament at Mary Washington on November 13-14, seeking to build upon their previous successes.

Experienced Leadership and Returning Standouts

Head coach Kendall Jacobsen, entering her second season, leads the team after guiding them to a 29-7 record and a program-record fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2025. The Sea Gulls return key players including 2025 All-Region setter Julie Altieri, 2024 All-American right-side hitter Kiley McTaggart, and All-C2C Second-Team selections middle blocker Sophia Tapia and libero Elizabeth Villegas, providing strength and experience as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
