The Salisbury University women’s golf team stood fourth in the 17-team Shenandoah Chinatown Invitational after darkness suspended the opening round Sept. 12 at Cacapon Resort State Park in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Krista Brosius set a Salisbury University program record with a four-over-par 76, while four of the team’s five golfers had holes remaining.
Salisbury University was at 30 over par, two strokes behind third-place Marymount (Va.) at 28 over par. Susquehanna led at 23 over par, followed by Batten at 26 over par. The Sea Gulls planned to complete the remaining holes before beginning the second and final round Sunday at 9 a.m.
Krista Brosius Sets Salisbury University Record
Brosius opened her sophomore campaign with the lowest single round in modern Salisbury University Sea Gull history. She carded a four-over-par 76 with one birdie and 12 pars.
The round improved Brosius’ own program-best score by two strokes. She was the only Salisbury University golfer to complete the first round and stood tied for fifth among 91 individuals when play was suspended.

Stella Jaffe completed 16 of 18 holes and was tied for seventh at five over par. Jaffe recorded three birdies before darkness stopped play.
Ava Kelly was tied for 18th at eight over par with three holes remaining. Sydney Lynott was tied for 38th at 13 over par with two holes remaining, while Cailin McCoy was listed 82nd at 25 over par with three holes remaining.
