Salisbury University men’s golf finished ninth among 18 teams at the DIII Northeast Elite tournament, while Ryan Henneman placed second among 90 individual golfers with a two-day even-par 142. The tournament took place at Williamsport Country Club in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Salisbury University shot 299 in the first round and 306 in the second round for a two-round total of 605.
Salisbury University Men’s Golf Finishes Ninth
Salisbury finished one stroke behind Allegheny, which placed eighth with a 604, and three strokes behind Swarthmore, which finished seventh with a 602. The Sea Gulls finished ahead of McDaniel and Hobart, which tied for 10th with a 606.
Ryan Henneman shot an even-par 71 in the final round, matching his even-par score from the opening round. He recorded two birdies and two bogeys to finish two strokes behind Penn State Altoona’s Max Mottura.
Ryan Henneman Finishes Second Individually
Mottura won the individual title after shooting a 66 in the final round. Henneman’s two-day even-par 142 secured second place among the tournament’s 90 individual golfers.
Sea Gulls’ Individual Results
Colton Thomas shot 79 in the final round and finished tied for 18th with a two-day score of 149, seven over par. Cole Velardo shot 79 to complete the first round and followed with a 76 in the second round, finishing tied for 51st with a 155, 13 over par.
Velardo also recorded an eagle on the par-five sixth hole during the second round. Parker Pruitt shot 80 in the final round and finished tied for 71st with a 159, 17 over par, while Evan Oglesby shot 89 as Salisbury’s drop score and finished 88th with a 168, 26 over par.
Salisbury University Men’s Golf Heads to Stevenson Fall Shootout
Salisbury University men’s golf will compete in the Stevenson Fall Shootout later in the week. The Sea Gulls will play two rounds at Piney Branch Golf Club on Thursday, with the first round scheduled for 8 a.m. and the second round scheduled for 1 p.m.
Salisbury University is an NCAA Division III institution with primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference.
