Salisbury University men’s and women’s cross country teams each placed third at the 30th annual Salisbury University Fall Classic on Sept. 5 in Salisbury, Maryland, opening the 2026 season. The meet included Division I programs from the United States Naval Academy, George Mason University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Salisbury University Women Place Third
The Salisbury University women scored 67 points to finish third. Navy won with 21 points, while George Mason University placed second with 47 points. Salisbury finished ahead of Regent, District of Columbia and UMES.
Anna Bodmer led Salisbury University by placing third overall in 21:17.5. Freshmen Brynn Crandell and Callie Webb followed with 12th- and 15th-place finishes in 22:11.7 and 22:24.1, respectively, in their Salisbury University debuts.
Camryn Russum placed 23rd in 23:10.9, while Olivia Baker finished 28th in 23:28.2 in her Salisbury University debut. Miranda Bournique placed 30th in 24:03.6, and freshman Abigail Stott finished 31st in 24:06.4 in her debut.
Salisbury University Men Also Finish Third
The Salisbury University men totaled 82 points for third place. George Mason University won with 19 points, and Navy finished second with 36 points. Salisbury finished ahead of Regent in the men’s team standings.
Gabe Riling led Salisbury University with a 13th-place finish in 25:59.1. Seth Barron placed 21st in 26:34.0, followed by Cormac Moroney in 24th at 27:02.3.
Freshman Ryan Moody finished 25th in 27:10.9 in his Salisbury University debut. Bradley Helman placed 26th in 27:14.7, while Justin Friscia and Peyton Dill finished 28th and 29th in 27:27.5 and 27:42.8, respectively.
Next Meet
Salisbury University is scheduled to compete next at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The meet is scheduled for Sept. 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Salisbury University has primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference.
