Ross to start instead of Scherzer in Game 5 of World Series
Following reports of neck and back spasms, Max Scherzer will not be starting Game 5 of the World Series for the Washington Nationals. Joe Ross will duel Gerrit Cole in Scherzer’s place. Ross, who has been rebounding from Tommy John surgery, will need to show his best stuff on the world stage if he is to make series history for Washington. After a tough 8-1 loss last night, the Nationals hope to reclaim the 2-2 series.
