RIP Harley Race

On August 1, we lost another wrestling legend. Harley Race passed away from lung cancer at the age of 76. His long-time friend and rival Ric Flair first announced back in March that he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. I had not heard any updates on his condition until his passing last week. Dustin Rhodes (Goldust) was one of the first to report his passing last Thursday.

Race wrestled for the NWA, AWA, WWF (now WWE), and WCW during his career. He was a 9-time heavyweight champion. Harley was inducted into four different Hall of Fames. The WWE, NWA, Professional Wrestling, and Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame. He is one of six men to accomplish this. He was also the first NWA United States Champion as well. In 1986 he won The King of the Ring during his time in the WWF. He will truly be missed. Make sure to google and youtube Harley Race to learn more about his career and see some of his classic promos and matches. Check out the WWE Network for his work as well. RIP Harley Race. Your legacy will live on forever.
