Recap: Orioles Lose Series in Cleveland

In a Sunday afternoon game, the Baltimore Orioles (37-87) wrapped up their business meeting with the Cleveland Indians (71-52), winning one of three games.

Friday night, Orioles lost, 1-0. Oriole’s David Hess was the starting pitcher, now 2-7. Offensively, Trey Mancini was the star with driving in an RBI; the lone run of the game. This RBI was Mancini’s 40th of the season.

Saturday’s game went to the Orioles, winning 4-2. Starting pitcher was Andrew Cobb, who pitched the entire game; threw 100 pitches, 69 of which were strikes. For the offense, Jonathan Villar hit a home-run in the third inning, driving in Austin Wynns and Cedric Mullins. Rookie, Mullins, collected his first Major League home-run on a 1-0 count, 0 on, 2 outs in the eighth inning.

Sunday’s meeting did not go well for Yefry Ramirez (feature photo), the Orioles starting pitcher, as seven of the eight runs by Cleveland came from the three innings he pitched. The team went through five more pitchers to keep the damage to a minimum. Seven different Orioles contributed to the nine hits of the game.

The Orioles are headed to Toronto Blue Jays, to play at 7:07pm Monday.
