Recap: Nats Struggled to 14-3 Loss

The Nationals looked to take the second win of the series against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. The Nationals sent out Stephen Strasburg hoping the secure the series win against Cardinals ace Jack Flahery. The Nats struggled as a team throughout the game as they could not build off of the win last night.

The Nats offense struck as Juan Soto doubled in the third inning, driving in Trea Turner to tie the game at one. The Cardinals would go on to produce thirteen unanswered runs to get the game out of reach. The Nats would go on to produce their final runs of the game with Starlin Castro’s two RBI single in the 9th. Strasburg struggled producing a line of 4IP 8H 7ER 5BB 3K’s. When the game was out of hand, Hernan Perez who is a position player, found action on the mound producing a 1,2,3 inning in the bottom of the 8th.

The Nats will try to bounce back tomorrow Wednesday 4/14, looking for a series win. The Nats will send out Joe Ross, while the Cardinals will send out long veteran Adam Wainwright. First pitch is scheduled at 1:15PM.
