Recap: Nashville SC 5, D.C. United 2
In their 19th match of the MLS regular season, D.C. United suffered their first defeat since July 17th with a 5-2 loss on the road to Nashville SC. With 15 matches to go, the Black and Red remain in sixth place and are still in the playoff hunt with a spot.
Frederic Brillant opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes heading off a Julian Gressel corner kick. Minutes later he made two straight goal line clearances. Nashville had the equalizer in the 15th minute with a header from C.J. Sapong. He scored another goal in the 31st minute. Nashville took a 3-1 lead with a goal from Hany Muktar in the 37th minute.
United got one back before the half in the 41st minute on a volley from Ola Kamara for his 11th of the season. Nashville headed into the half with a 3-2 lead. Alex Muyl made it a two goal lead again with a goal in the 80th minute. D.C. United will look to bounce back on Wednesday night against Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution.
