Recap: D.C. United falls 4-1 to San Jose Earthquakes

D.C. United fell to the San Jose Earthquakes 4-1 in their third MLS match of the season despite outshooting them 17-12 and out possessing them. The first half was back and fourth before the home team put it away in the second half.

San Jose opened the scoring in the first minute on a goal from Javier Eduardo Lopez. They doubled their lead in the 26th minute on a breakaway from Cade Cowell.

D.C. United got on the board in the 31st minute when Antonio Alfaro scored off a corner kick. The Earthquakes responded with a strike from Jackson Yueill. They added a late goal in the second half to make it 4-1.

The Black and Red will be back in action against the Columbus Crew SC on Saturday May 8th on the road at 1:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington.
