Ravens Sign Madubuike to Four-Year Deal

The Baltimore Ravens and defensive lineman Justin Madubuike agreed to a contract extension on Friday that will keep the 2023 Pro Bowler in Baltimore through the 2027 season.

The four-year deal is worth $98 million, with $53.5 million due at signing, and $75.5 million guaranteed. The contract extension is good for both sides as Madubuike gets the long term deal he wanted while the Ravens can avoid the $22 million dollar cap hit in 2024 if Madubuike had played on the franchise tag.

The tag was originally placed on Madubuike on Tuesday, as the two sides could not come to an agreement ahead of the deadline to sign players to the tag.

Madubuike had an impressive 2023 season that saw him racking up 13 sacks, 38 total tackles, and two forced fumbles, on his way to being named second-team All-Pro.

Friday’s signing is a good first step for the Ravens as they now secure a big part of their defense while also creating some necessary cap room ahead of next weeks start to free agency.
