Ravens Agree to One-Year Deal with Harty

The Baltimore Ravens and wide receiver/return specialist Deonte Harty have agreed to a one year deal that will see the Archbishop Curley graduate return home to Baltimore.

While at Archbishop Curley, Harty helped lead the Friar’s to an MIAA B Conference Championship his senior year, while also being named the 2014 Varsity Sports Network Offensive Player of the Year.

Harty would then take his talents to Assumption College, a division II school in Worcester, Massachusetts. In his four seasons Harty became a star at Assumption setting several records including the NCAA record for most combined touchdown returns (14). Despite his impressive college career Harty went undrafted in 2019 signing with the New Orleans Saints following the draft.

The Saints were impressed with Harty’s elite return ability during the preseason and Harty was named to the Saints 53-man roster for the 2019 season. That season was the best season in Harty’s career thus far has he led the league with 60 returns for 982 yards and an average return of 16.4.

Harty would spend four seasons with the Saints before signing a two-year deal with the Bills last offseason. In 16 games with the Bills last seaosn, Harty had 27 returns for 330 yards, and had a 12.2 average per return. The highlight of the year for Harty would come in week 18 against the Dolphins as his 96-yard punt return would help the Bills clinch the AFC East division title.

Harty’s signing will fill the hole left by former Ravens wide receiver/ return specialist Devin Duvernay who signed with the Jaguars this offseason. While his time at the wide receiver position will be limited as he has just 79 career receptions in five years, Harty’s big play ability in the return game could be the added boost this Ravens team needs from week to week.
