Rain, Rain Go Away: Maryland Women’s Basketball vs Purdue Postponed

Well, it would have been one of the best games ever this season. The Maryland vs Purdue conference matchup at the Xfinity arena did not occur today.

Heavy rain and snow hit Maryland today.

Maryland will play Purdue at a later date. Due to a roof leak, officials ended the game. Coach Brenda Frese made an announcement to the fans. Maryland’s social media account announced that refunds would occur, and the fans were able to get some autographs and pictures with the team.

Maryland Athletic Director Damon Evans stated that both teams were given the option to play in their auxiliary gym. Purdue declined as they did not feel comfortable.

Maryland goes on the road to face Michigan State on Jan 9th.
