Preview ; D.C. United hosts Cincinnati on Decision Day

After a scoreless draw in New York last weekend against the Red Bulls, D.C. United seeks a win over FC Cincinnati this afternoon to clinch a home game in the first round of the MLS playoffs.

“One last game here and the goal is to win, as it is most home games. This one has a little bit of more weight to it because of what’s at stake the week after, and we certainly want to reward our fans with another home game after this weekend. We don’t want this to be the last time we play at Audi Field,” said head coach Ben Olsen.

FC Cincinnati is coming off a 1-1 draw to Orlando City SC and carries a 6-22-5 mark on the season for 12th place in the Eastern Conference. It’s been a challenging first year for the expansion team.

D.C. United will be without Wayne Rooney, who serves a one-game suspension after receiving a yellow card during the second half of last week’s game. The fans of the Black and Red hope for a win so they get to see Rooney play one last time before he joins Derby County this January during the transfer window.

Kickoff is at 4 p.m. and you can catch the game on DCUnited.com.
