Preview: D.C. United at New England Revolution

In their 20th match of the MLS regular season, D.C. United faces a big road test as they take on Eastern Conference leading New England Revolution. The Black and Red will look to bounce back from a loss on Sunday to Nashville SC by a final of 5-2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington.

United started their previous match on the right foot when Frederic Brillant scored the first goal of the game in the third minute on a header at the front post. Nashville equalized in the 15th minute then doubled their lead in the 31st minute. Nashville’s third goal came in the 37th minute. United cut the lead to 3-2 in the 41st minute on a goal from Ola Kamara for his 11th of the season. That was as close as they’d get. Nashville put the game away in the second half.

Tonight’s matchup with New England will be the 89th time these two original franchises played each other. United has an all time record of 40-33-15 against the New England Revolution and will be looking to steal three points from the beasts of the east.
