Playoff Revenge: Mystics face Storm for a Two Game Road Trip

After a week off, The Washington Mystics are looking to refocus with a two-game road trip to the northwest. This is the first matchup between both teams. The Seattle Storm swept the Mystics in the first round series out of three.

The Keys to Victory!

The offseason makes a difference.

While the Mystics maintained most of their roster, the Seattle Storm had an interesting off-season. For all intended purposes, The Storm is clearly in a rebuilding mode. The loss of Sue Bird (Retirement) and Brianna Stewart (Free Agency). This is now Jewel Loyd’s team, but this is a team like Minnesota that should still be respected. Jewel Loyd is out of this game due to a foot injury.

What Mystics team are we expecting?

Head Coach Eric Thibault, and Elena Della Donne expressed some concern during a practice this week. Fatigue? Just one of those days? Who knows but this is an opportunity for the Mystics to reset. This is a Seattle team like Minnesota is just like playing with high energy. The Mystics must find ways for the offensive to not get lapses where the offense stalls. The guards are going to be key for the game.

The offense must get back on track

The backcourt cracked double figure this past weekend. Elena Della Donne and Shakira Austin are going to get their points but how can the offense get Natasha Cloud, Ariel Atkins, and Brittany Sykes?

The bench is also going to be key as well. the bench has not found a stride so far this season. This road trip should reset the Mystics.
