O’s longtime prospect Harvey recalled from Norfolk

The Baltimore Orioles have made another pitching move, recalling longtime pitching prospect, Hunter Harvey, from Triple-A Norfolk.

Harvey, who is the Orioles’ No. 15 ranked prospect, has had a mixed year, after beginning the season with Double-A Bowie and later being called up to Triple-A Norfolk.

The 24-year-old right-hander had a 2-5 record with the Baysox, after appearing in 14 games and making 11 starts. Harvey held a 5.19 ERA during that span, but he made a transition to the bullpen that would benefit him and earn him a promotion.

In Norfolk as a reliever, Harvey went 1-1 with a 4.32 ERA in 12 games, all out of the bullpen.

If Harvey enters tonight’s game against the Boston Red Sox, it will be his major league debut, and he would be the 53rd player used by the Orioles this season.

Congratulations on the call-up, Hunter!
