Orioles Split Double Header

The Baltimore Orioles won the first game against the Washington Nationals by a score of six to two. Unfortunately, the second game did not go the Orioles way by them losing fifteen to three.

The Orioles started their suspended game from last week against the Nationals by scoring one run in the top of the sixth inning to push their lead to six to two. The Nationals would not score for the rest of that first game.

The second game looked as though the Orioles were going to extend their winning streak to seven games. Anthony Santander launched a home run to lead the game one to nothing in the bottom of the first inning. The next time that the Orioles would score would not be until the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Nationals looked like a different team by scoring two runs in the second inning, three runs in the third inning, and one run in the fourth inning. That would take the game to six to one going into the fifth inning.

In the top of the seventh inning, the Nationals got on the board again with a home run to extend their lead to seven to one. Hanser Alberto answered back with a double to score a run to make it seven to two in the same inning.

The Nationals boosted their lead when they scored six runs in the top of the eighth inning to make it thirteen to two. Unfortunately, the Orioles could only score one run in the bottom of the eighth to make it thirteen to three.

Thankfully the game was almost over for the Orioles. However, the Nationals were not done scoring runs. In this inning the Nationals would score two runs to finally push the game to its final score of fifteen to three.

The Orioles look to bounce back tomorrow night against the Nationals. The Orioles move up to second place behind the Yankees in the American League East.
