Orioles sign second-round pick, Gunnar Henderson

The Baltimore Orioles have officially signed their second overall pick from this year’s MLB Draft, shortstop Gunnar Henderson.

The Auburn signee has made his decision to go the professional route. According to Jim Callis of MLB.com, Henderson has signed with the Orioles for a $2.3 million signing bonus.

It is unclear as to where Henderson will begin his career, but considering that he is only 18 years old, he will most likely start for either the Aberdeen IronBirds or the Delmarva Shorebirds.

Henderson was said to have one of the best bats in this year’s high school draft class. His 6’3″ frame puts him down as a question mark moving forward at the shortstop position, but only time will tell.

Welcome to Birdland, Gunnar!
