Orioles Roster Moves 5/13/18
The Baltimore Orioles made several roster moves today. These moves came after yesterdays double header and they decided they wanted a pair of fresh arms and bats.
The first move was to send down Jimmy Yacobonis to the Norfolk Tides (AAA). Jimmy pitched in the second game of the double header after the rain delay and gave up one run and walked three in 1.1 IP.
To fill his spot, the Orioles called up our old friend Donnie Hart. He was a vital part of the rotation during the second half of the season last year but after a rough spring training started the year in Norfolk. In 13 games he has pitched to a 2.87 ERA with seven walks and 18 strike outs.
The Orioles also send down Rule 5 pick Anthony Santander to the Bowie Baysox (AA). He has a line of .198/.250/.297 so this is not unexpected. Due to Rule 5 pick rules he could not be sent down before today without exposing him to waivers.
To replace him the Orioles called up our former Rule 5 guy Joey Rickard from Norfolk. Joey has a line of .301/.424/.462 in Norfolk and has stolen three bases.
Some other notes:
Gausman will receive extra day rest and start Thursday in Boston. #Orioles will need Wednesday starter vs #Phillies.

O’Day slated to throw today. If that goes well, he could return from DL on Wednesday or Thursday.

Buck said Anthony Santander will play left and right in Bowie. “If he had never appeared here, you’d be really excited about where he is.” #Orioles
