Orioles lose first game in the series against Tampa Bay

The Baltimore Orioles lose to the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of four to two. Tommy Malone started the game on the mound for the Orioles. Tyler Glasgow started the game on the mound for the Rays.

Renato Nunez started the Orioles’ scoring off by hammering a solo home run in the top of the first inning. The Orioles lead one to nothing.

However, the Rays would not allow this to go unanswered. Hunter Renfroe hit his own home run in the bottom of the second inning. This would be a two run home run to allow the Rays to lead two to one.

Immediately after that, Malone allowed another home run. This extended the Ray’s lead to three to one.

The Orioles’ luck began to change in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ryan Mountcastle hit his first MLB RBI to cut the lead to three to two. This would unfortunately be the last inning that the Orioles would get on the board.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Rays were up to bat and Ji-Man Choi scored Renfroe. The score stood and would stand at four to two for the rest of the game.

Throughout the game, the Orioles went for an abysmal one for five with runners in scoring position. They would score two runs on seven hits. Sadly, the defense committed two errors.

Comparatively, the Rays scored four runs on seven hits while committing no errors on defense. The Orioles play the second game in this series tomorrow evening.
