Orioles lose but not for lack of trying

The Baltimore Orioles lose to the Buffalo Blue Jays by a score of six to five.

Ryan Mountcastle was on fire today by hitting his first major league home run in the top of the first inning.

Then, in the bottom of the fourth inning Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a single to tie the game at one run a piece.

An inning later, Cavan Biggio singled to score another run to take the lead. Soon after, Randal Grichuk hit a sacrifice fly ball to score another run. The Blue Jays led three to one after five innings.

The top of the sixth inning gifted the Orioles with three runs. Pedro Severino singled to score a run. Mountcastle hit a two run home run in the game to take the lead four to three.

Mountcastle finished the game with three hits on four plate appearances.

The bottom of the eighth inning proved fruitful for the Blue Jays when Rowdy Tellez hit a single to drive in a run. The game was four to four.

Jose Iglesias bunted to score Rio Ruiz in the top of the ninth inning to take the lead five to four.

Unfortunately, the Orioles came up short in the bottom of the ninth when Teoscar Hernandez walked off the game with a single.

The Orioles will try to win against the Blue Jays tomorrow afternoon.
