Orioles get shutout on the road

The Baltimore Orioles fell to the Buffalo Blue Jays by a score of five to nothing. It definitely was not the Orioles’ night in the batter’s box or on defense.

The Blue Jays scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. scored both of those runs when he hit a single to the outfield.

Then in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Blue Jays tacked on the remaining three runs. Derek Fisher pushed across Guerrero Jr. on a force out ground ball to the infield. Soon after, Cavan Biggio smacked a single to the outfield to score two additional runs. This would bring the score to five to nothing.

The Orioles did not score any runs on the five hits that they had, plus they committed two defensive errors. On the other hand, the Blue Jays scored five runs on nine hits with no errors.

The Orioles look to turn things around tomorrow afternoon in game three in the four game series. The Orioles are in fourth place in the American League East.
