Orioles get shut out, fall to Tigers 3-0: Game recap 5/28/19

The Orioles were coming off a big Memorial Day victory yesterday, and looked to grab a series win from the Tigers.

Dylan Bundy got the start today, and he did everything his team needed him to do. Bundy threw only his second seven inning game of the season, allowing just three runs off seven hits. Unfortunately his offense gave him no run support.

Bundy looked as though he would be rattled early, giving up a RBI single to the future Hall of Famer Miguel Cabrera in the first inning.

The Tigers would score one more in the second, which gave them a 2-0 lead over the Orioles. Despite two hard hit balls Dylan Bundy limited the damage early in the game compared to majority of his other starts.

Dylan Bundy did give up a solo home run later in his outing, but overall did better with keeping the ball on the ground. His ground ball to fly ball ratio was 7-3, which again is improvement.

The Orioles offense tonight could not produce, as they went 0-16 with RISP and left eight runners on base.

Dj Stewart started in his first game this season at RF, and he was ready. Stewart went 3-4 at the plate and also stole a base.

Stewart has been hot lately down in Norfolk, hitting above .300 and showing power that we will love to see at Camden Yards.

Dylan Bundy recorded the loss tonight (2-6).

Catch the Orioles Wednesday in the rubber match against the Detroit Tigers at 7:05 pm ET.
