Orioles fall 7-1 to the Toronto Blue Jays
The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 7 to 1. Monday night looked to be going well, maybe not as planned due to the lack of run support but never less going well for the Baltimore Orioles. Then came the ninth inning were the Blue Jays found a spark and rallied to score five runs and seal a 7-1 victory in game one of a three game series.
Dylan Bundy did everything he could for the Orioles throwing seven innings allowing two runs on four hits and added ten strikeouts. Bundy had the Blue Jays offense in check the whole game and never let a better feel comfortable in the box.
Manny Machado and Trey Mancini were the two bright spots for the Orioles offense. Machado going 2-for-4 with a solo shot in the third inning, which was the Orioles sole run of the game. Mancini did his job as well going 3-for-4 in the leadoff spot. The downfall for the Orioles offense was due to eleven run miners left on base and went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position.
Blue Jays did all there damage off two homers, one from former Oriole Steve Pearce in the third to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead. Donaldson would then get in on the homer party and hit a grand slam to dead center to give the Blue Jays a 7-1 win.
