Orioles drop first game against the Red Sox

It was a tough night for the Baltimore Orioles as they would go on to lose seven to one against the Boston Red Sox. Over the course of the game, the Orioles would only score one run on five hits. On the other hand, the Red Sox scored seven runs on twelve hits. Each team did not have any errors.

The Red Sox got on the board early and never looked back. They scored two runs in the top of the second. They would lead the game two to nothing. The Red Sox would score yet again an inning later when Xander Bogaerts hit a home run to push the lead to three to nothing.

The Orioles looked like they had some life in the in the bottom of the seventh inning. Pat Valaika hit his third home run on the year to cut in to the lead, three to one.

Unfortunately, the Red Sox added on to their lead in the top of the ninth. Bogaerts brought in another run to stretch the lead to four to one. Following soon after, Mitch Moreland hit a three run home run to make the score seven to one.

The Orioles drop to fourth in the American League East after tonight. Fortunately for the Orioles, they play the Red Sox again tomorrow night to even up the series.
