Orioles continue to struggle

The Baltimore Orioles put up only two runs in their game three loss against the Buffalo Blue Jays. The Blue Jays scored five runs on eleven hits with one error on defense. On the other hand, the Orioles put up two runs on ten hits with no errors.

The Blue Jays opened up the scoring in the top of the second inning with a Randal Grichuk home run to lead the game one to nothing. The Orioles would not get on the board until the bottom of the fourth inning.

Dwight Smith Jr. brought in Hanser Alberto in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at one run a piece. Immediately following, Pat Valaika brought in Smith Jr. on his own single to take the lead, two to one.

The Blue Jays would carry the scoring onward from there. In the top of the sixth inning Grichuk homered again to plate two runs to take the lead, three to two. They would later score again in the top of the eighth and top of the ninth.

In the top of the eighth Brandon Drury scored Travis Shaw on a sacrifice fly ball to extend the Blue Jays’ lead to four to two. To cement the game, in the ninth inning Lourdes Gurriel Jr. brought in Cavan Biggio to make the game five to two.

The Orioles are still in third place in the American League East. They face the Boston Red Sox for a four game series at Camden Yards. The Red Sox are in dead last in the American League East.
