Notre Dame of Maryland University women’s volleyball claimed their first win of the season on Sept. 5, 2026, by defeating Hood 3-0. The Gators then lost to Shenandoah 3-0 at the Hood Tri-Match in Frederick, Maryland. Notre Dame of Maryland improved to 1-2 on the season, with Kaliyah Brown recording her first double-double of the season against Hood, tallying 10 kills and 12 digs.
Notre Dame of Maryland Volleyball Sweeps Hood
Notre Dame of Maryland defeated Hood 3-0, winning the sets 25-14, 25-21 and 25-18. The Gators hit .220, recorded 16 aces and held Hood to a .093 attack percentage. Notre Dame of Maryland also held a 36-32 advantage in digs.
Brown hit .286 and recorded four aces against Hood. Bryanna Carter added eight kills with a .261 attack percentage, while Gwen Abnett recorded five kills in nine swings without an error and hit .556.
Elena Augnst served nine of Notre Dame of Maryland’s 16 aces. Izzy Stewart added 10 digs, and Oliviya Rodriguez finished with 18 assists.
Shenandoah Volleyball Defeats Notre Dame of Maryland in Second Match
Shenandoah defeated Notre Dame of Maryland 3-0 in the second match, taking the sets 28-26, 25-16 and 25-23. Notre Dame of Maryland hit just .030 as a team against Shenandoah.
Brown led Notre Dame of Maryland with 10 kills, while Myla Palmer and Bryanna Carter each added six. Rodriguez assisted 23 times, and Stewart recorded 16 digs.
