Edwards put Notre Dame of Maryland on the scoreboard in the first half after pouncing on a loose ball and scoring past Widener goalkeeper Araba Abanyie. Widener quickly responded, equalizing a few minutes later on a corner kick. Then Widener scored twice in a 90-second span late in the first half to take a 3-1 lead.
The score remained unchanged through the second half. Notre Dame of Maryland’s record dropped to 0-1-0, while Widener improved to 1-0-0.
Leah Hasberry Makes 10 Saves
