The Norfolk Tides announced Sept. 15, 2026, that Ethan Anderson and Aron Estrada were promoted from Double-A Chesapeake in conjunction with the Baltimore Orioles. Anderson is ranked the No. 16 prospect in the Orioles organization by MLB Pipeline, while Estrada is ranked No. 13 in the organization.
Ethan Anderson Brings Virginia Ties to Norfolk
Anderson is a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and attended the University of Virginia for three seasons. Baltimore selected him in the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft.
Anderson played 82 games with Chesapeake and hit .271 with 60 runs, 12 doubles, 21 home runs, 47 RBIs and 41 walks. He started 52 games at catcher, 21 at first base and six as the designated hitter.
Anderson also completed a six-game Minor League rehab stint with High-A Frederick while on the injured list from July 7 until his activation Aug. 25.
Aron Estrada Earns Promotion After Chesapeake Season
Estrada played 123 games with Chesapeake and hit .278 with 70 runs, 21 doubles, 24 home runs and 76 RBIs. He ranked among the Eastern League leaders in home runs, hits, RBIs, extra-base hits, batting average and slugging percentage.
Estrada was 21 years, 244 days old on the announcement date and was the second-youngest player to play on the Tides roster that season, behind Fernando Peguero.

The promotions move Anderson and Estrada to Norfolk after their Chesapeake seasons. Anderson brings experience at catcher, first base and designated hitter, while Estrada arrives after ranking among the Eastern League leaders in several offensive categories.
Anderson also gives the promotion a Virginia connection through his graduation from Frank W. Cox High School and attendance at the University of Virginia.
