Nikki Bella announces retirement from WWE
On the season finale of “Total Bellas”, Nikki Bella officially announced her retirement from the WWE. After her sister, Brie, retired earlier this month, Nikki decided she was ready to “hang up the jersey.”
Nikki Bella has been involved with the WWE for 12 years. Throughout her career, she has won the Divas Championship on two separate occasions. Her feuds with Paige and A.J. Lee helped shape this “Divas” era and has led to the transformation of the Women’s Division we see today.
Following a loss to Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship at Evolution in November, Nikki went on a European tour with the WWE. She commented on the tour, saying, “The (European) tour was good, but I feel like I’m too old for the travel. The travel was really rough.”
Both Nikki and Brie Bella have left a tremendous impact on the WWE. They aided the transformation from the Divas era to the Women’s Division we have today, which is why the Bella Twins are both future Hall of Famers.
