The Goucher College men’s soccer team lost 2-1 to McDaniel College in a non-conference matchup Sept. 16, 2026, in Baltimore. Nicholas Clarke scored both of McDaniel College’s goals, including the winner at 76:15.
McDaniel College entered the match with a 4-0-1 overall record, while Goucher College entered at 3-1-2. McDaniel College led 1-0 at halftime after Clarke scored at 15:17.
McDaniel College Takes Early Lead
McDaniel College recorded the first three shots of the match before Clarke gave the Green Terror the lead. Goucher College goalkeeper Dino Gesamondo made seven saves while playing all 90 minutes.
Goucher College earned a corner kick through Charles Critzer before Kaedin Jones recorded a late shot. McDaniel College carried its one-goal advantage into halftime.
Tim Bonilla Scores First Collegiate Goal
Goucher College tied the match at 54:30 when Tim Bonilla finished a loose ball following a shot from Alex Ruggles. The goal marked the first of Bonilla’s collegiate career.
McDaniel College earned a penalty kick about a minute later, but Gesamondo made the save to preserve the 1-1 score. Goucher College recorded the next two shots before McDaniel College responded with two attempts of its own.
Clarke restored McDaniel College’s lead at 76:15. Goucher College remained within striking distance late, but a blocked attempt from Tiem Kuiy was the final listed scoring threat as McDaniel College held on for the victory.
McDaniel College Holds Shot Advantage
McDaniel College finished with a 13-7 advantage in shots and led 6-3 in corner kicks. The Green Terror also held a 10-2 edge in shots on goal.
Ruggles led Goucher College with two shots, while Clarke finished with six shots and two goals. Abobeleh Nkemawung also recorded a second-half attempt for Goucher College.
Goucher College travels to Widener on Saturday, Sept. 19, for a 4 p.m. kickoff. The team returns home Saturday, Sept. 26, to host Drew in its Landmark Conference opener and the first game of the doubleheader.
