Navy Women’s Soccer Loses to Loyola 1-0
Navy Women’s Soccer lost a closely played defensive battle at Loyola Wednesday night.
The Loyola Greyhounds managed to score in the 13th minute of play to take the lead which they held onto the rest of the night.
Head coach Carin Gabarra stated “It’s tough to play an away match midweek; we did not come out with the collective energy we needed. Loyola is a very organized and disciplined defensive team; it’s hard to score goals on them. After giving up a goal fairly early, we pushed forward with numbers, but were unable to create quality scoring chances. We needed to be better solving and passing out of their high pressure, as well as being better in possession.”
Loyola outshot Navy 17-7 including a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.
Navy will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Hamilton, NY to take on Colgate.
