Navy Football Prepares to Take on Wagner in Inaugural Meeting

Navy Football returns to Annapolis this Saturday for their home opener as they prepare to take on the FCS Wagner Seahawks (0-1) in the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The game will be played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 3:30 pm eastern and be broadcast on CBS. This is the latest home opener that Navy has played since 2017 when they opened against Tulane on September 9th back in 2017.

The Midshipmen will be looking to rebound after a tough 42-3 loss to Notre Dame at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

Wagner is coming in off 46-16 loss at Fordham that they are looking to bounce back from themselves. Despite the lopsided score Wagner managed to gain 432 total yards of offense including 344 through the air. This means that the veteran secondary for Navy will be tested early and often in this matchup.

Where Wagner got into trouble last week was turnovers, committing three compared to Fordham’s zero. If Wagner can manage to limit turnovers this should be a competitive and exciting matchup.
