Navy Falls Short to Cornell, 61-50

Navy loses to Cornell, 61-50.

Despite a late run, the Navy Midshipmen fell to the Big Red of Cornell, 61-50, in men’s basketball action Sunday afternoon in Ithica, NY.

The loss drops Navy to 3-8 on the season. Cornell improves to 6-7 with the win.

Matt Morgan scored 25 of his 27 points for Cornell in the second half to help the Big Red fend off Navy’s final push. A 3-pointer by Hasan Abdullah brought the Mids to within 2 points with just minutes to go in the game. Morgan answered with six unanswered points for Cornell to seal the victory for the home team.
