The Navy men's basketball team could never catch Loyola Maryland on Thursday afternoon, in the end losing to the Greyhounds, 79-70. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday night but was postponed due to weather.

The loss drops Navy to 9-17 on the season and 6-9 in the Patriot League. Loyola improves to 10-18 overall and 6-9 in conference play.

Loyola jumped to an early 22-12 lead in the first half, only to see Navy close to within two points. As halftime neared, the Greyhounds regained momentum and went to the break with a 42-34 lead.

The second half played out much the same with Navy coming within one point of tying the game with 10:11 left on the clock. Extending their lead one final time, the Greyhounds held on to record a deceptively large nine-point win.
