Navy beats Coppin State, 77-58

The Navy men’s basketball team recorded their first win of the 2018-19 season Wednesday night at Alumni Hall, defeating Coppin State 77-58. The Midshipmen move to 1-2 on the year. The Eagles fall to 0-3.

George Kiernan had a monster game for Navy. Scoring 21 points, hitting three 3-pointers and recording nine rebounds, the senior forward helped the Mids pull away in the second half. Evan Wieck also put up strong numbers for Navy, adding 14 points and five rebounds to the winning tally.

On the Coppin State side, Dejuan Clayton and Lamar Morgan tied for the team lead in points with 13. Medley-Bacon Brendan led the Eagles with seven rebounds.
