Nationals roster updates; update on Max Scherzer
Today, the Washington Nationals have called up RHP Erick Fedde from the Double-A Harrisburg Senators and have optioned Adrian Sanchez to Double-A to make room for Fedde. Kyle McGowin will stay to provide the bullpen an extra hand if needed. Max Scherzer, who is eligible to return from the injured list this weekend, has been playing catch and checking in with trainers to ensure he's ready for bullpen sessions and a possible start as soon as Sunday.
Adrian Sanchez optioned to Harrisburg to open up a spot for Erick Fedde, who starts tonight. Kyle McGowin stays, probably as insurance if they need a long reliever tonight.
