Nationals push Astros to Game 7 after 7-2 win

The Washington Nationals have pushed the World Series to a winner-take-all Game 7 following a 7-2 victory over the Houston Astros. Stephen Strasburg threw a phenomenal 8.1 innings that yielded five hits, two runs, two walks, and seven strikeouts. Sean Doolittle finished the job with a clean 1-out ninth inning, preventing the Astros from clinching another World Series title for the time being.

In the first inning, Anthony Rendon singled to score Trea Turner. In the fifth, Adam Eaton and Juan Soto hit solo home runs to help put the Nationals on top. In the seventh, following a major controversy with the umpires and even an ejection for manager Dave Martinez, Rendon hit a two-run home run, and in the ninth, Rendon doubled to score Turner and Eaton.

Tonight, Max Scherzer will duel Zack Greinke for the world championship title. First pitch is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. ET.
