The Nationals go for an all-important sweep of the second place Phillies tonight. Gio Gonzalez (7-11, 4.35 ERA) takes the mound for Washington. After two poor outings, Gonzalez was strong in his last start, allowing only one run in seven innings.
Jake Arrieta (9-9, 3.37 ERA) gets the ball for Philadelphia. Arrieta allowed four runs in six-plus innings in his last start.
If the Nats are going to make a run at the first place Braves, a series sweep against the second place Phillies would be a fantastic start.
