Nationals fall to Pirates 4-1; recap: 8/20/19

The Washington Nationals’ spectacular blowout streak ended tonight with a 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Although Stephen Strasburg threw seven great innings that yielded four hits, no runs, one walk, and six strikeouts, the bullpen in the forms of Wander Suero and Daniel Hudson did not provide the necessary lead protection for the Nationals. The Nationals’ only run came in the form of an Anthony Rendon RBI double that scored Adam Eaton.

Tomorrow, Patrick Corbin will start against Joe Musgrove for Game 126. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
