Nationals fall to Orioles in 2-0 shutout loss; recap: 8/27/2019

The Washington Nationals fell to the Baltimore Orioles in the two-game series opener at Nationals Park. After giving up two runs on four hits in the first inning, Patrick Corbin concluded his night with seven innings and nine strikeouts. Wander Suero and Fernando Rodney provided the necessary relief in the eighth and ninth innings to keep the Orioles’ bats quiet. Despite the various scoring opportunities the Nationals had, they had fallen short after one of their best road trips this season.

Tomorrow, Max Scherzer will take on Asher Wojcieschowski in the Beltway season finale. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
