Nationals fall to D-backs 7-5: recap 8/4/19

The Washington Nationals lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon at Chase Field. The Nationals record currently stands at 58-53. The D-Backs move to 56-56.

Patrick Corbin pitched a very strong five innings for Washington. Corbin allowed seven hits and five strikeouts while pitching. Hunter Strickland allowed zero hits and zero strikeouts in relief for Washington.

In the top of the second inning, center fielder Gerardo Parra homered to right (387 feet), Matt Adams scored.

At the top of the fourth, second baseman Brian Dozier homered to left (418 feet).

At the top of the sixth, first baseman Matt Adams scored, Parra to second on passed ball by C. Kelly, Brian Dozier to third on passed ball by C. Kelly.

Additionally, in the top of the seventh, third baseman Anthony Rendon singled to left, Trea Turner scored.

With a loss to the D-Backs, the Nationals head to San Francisco to play the Giants for a three game series tomorrow night at 9:45pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Erick Fedde.
