Nationals walk-off Padres 7-6

The Washington Nationals held off the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 12-14. The Padres drop to 16-10.

Jeremy Hellickson pitched a very strong three innings for Washington, allowing six hits and three strikeouts. Erik Fedde came into the game for the first time this season, allowing two hits and three strikeouts.

Offensively, the long ball ruled for Washington, belting home runs from Juan Soto, Victor Robles, Carter Kieboom, and Matt Adams.

In the bottom of the third inning, left fielder, Juan Soto, homered to center, scoring Victor Robles and Brian Dozier. Also in the bottom of the third, Kurt Suzuki singled to center, which scored Howie Kendrick.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Victor Robles homered to left. Additionally, Carter Kieboom sent one to the left field seats.

The game was tied at 6-6 and went into extra innings, but it would not stay like that for long. First baseman, Matt Adams, delivered a walk-off homer in the 11th inning for a 7-6 win!

The Washington Nationals play the St. Louis Cardinals in a four-game series at Nationals Park tomorrow night. Pitching game one for the Nats will be Patrick Corbin.
