Nationals beat Marlins 7-6; recap 8/30/19
The Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins on Friday evening at Nationals Park. The Nationals’ record currently stands at 75-58. The Marlins drop to 48-86.
Anibal Sanchez pitched a very strong five innings for Washington. Sanchez allowed three hits and six strikeouts while pitching. Daniel Hudson allowed two hits and one strikeout in relief for Washington.
At the bottom of the first, third baseman Anthony Rendon singled to center, Turner scored, Parra to second. Also, second baseman Cabrera grounded out to second, Parra scored, Soto to second.
In the bottom of the third, Trea Turner grounded out to third, Robles scored.
In the bottom of the sixth, left fielder Juan Soto doubled to center, Rendon scored.
Additionally, in the bottom of the seventh, Juan Soto doubled to deep right, pinch runner Scherzer scored, Rendon to third.
Finally, in the bottom of the ninth, Rendon singled to left, Kendrick scored and Turner scored.
With a win over the Marlins, the Nationals play game two of the series tomorrow night at 7:05pm. Pitching for the Nationals is Stephen Strasburg.
