MSB Staff’s Stanley Cup playoffs Capitals Hurricanes predictions

It is that time of year again!!!  The Stanley Cup playoffs begin tonight, but the Washington Capitals don’t start until tomorrow. The reigning, defending Stanley Cup champs look to take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round.

While they are one of the most dominant teams in the Eastern Conference, the Caps have a few obstacles ahead. If they make it out of the first round, they will be facing the Islanders or they will meet the Penguins once again in a second round matchup. 

The Caps swept the Hurricanes this season and are looking to continue what they started last season and make another run to the cup.  The Caps won the Metro for the fourth consecutive season. Here are our predictions for the first round matchup .
