MSB Staff predictions for Extreme Rules

It’s that time once again for the staff of MSB to do PPV predictions. This Sunday is Extreme Rules. It will take place in the birthplace of extreme Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We have ten matches on the card. I’ll start things off here with my predictions.

AJ Styles vs Ricochet for the United States Title

These two guys have had a couple of good matches on Raw in recent weeks. This is a dream match for many fans. Both guys have a great offensive move set. AJ has his former Bullet Club members back with him Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. It wouldn’t shock me if they played a role in the outcome of this one. I see Ricochet having a nice run with the title. With that being said, Ricochet retains here.

My Pick: Ricochet

Braun Strowman vs Bobby Lashley in a Last Man Standing Match

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen these guys go from arm wrestling to battling in a tug a war. The fans were losing interest. Until last week when they kicked off Raw with one of the most shocking movements I’ve seen in a while. Both men were driven right through the center of the stage with lots of loud explosions going off. That one moment got things going again for these two. This one's a toss-up and could go either way. I say Braun wins in a hard-fought match.

My Pick: Braun Strowman

Daniel Bryan and Rowen vs Heavy Machinery vs The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles

The tag team division in WWE just doesn’t seem that important at the moment. I’d be shocked if Bryan and Rowen lost the belts. These guys will all bring their A-game with the Planets champions Bryan and Rowen retaining.

My Pick: Daniel Bryan and Rowen

Tony Nese vs Drew Gulak for the WWE Cruiserweight Champion

The hometown guy Drew Gulak is walking in as the champ. Tony gets his rematch after losing the title at Stomping Grounds. A lot of times, wrestles lose in their hometown. This will be an exception. I’m going with Gulak to retain his title.

My Pick: Drew Gulak

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs Bayley in a 2 on 1 Handicap Match for the Smackdown Woman’s Title

With Nikki Cross now added to the match, it wouldn’t shock me if she got the pin and won the title setting up a Nikki vs Alexa feud. Here’s another scenario. Nikki Cross was talking during Raw about friendship and Bayley needing a friend like Alexa. Could we see Sasha make her return to help her friend retain her title? I could honestly see either one of these situations take place. This one is a toss-up now. I’m a go with Bayley retaining and a Sasha return.

My Pick: Bayley

Kofi Kingston vs Samoa Joe for the WWE Title

This will be the biggest test of Kofi’s title reign. Joe is no joke and will come to fight. Kofi is gonna have to step his game up big time here. It won’t be easy but Kofi will pull it out in a physical match.

My Pick: Kofi Kingston

Aleister Black vs Cesaro

We found out on Smackdown this week that Cesaro will be Black’s opponent on Sunday. Black has been asking for someone to pick a fight with him for weeks now. Cesaro answered the call. A lot of people thought it would be Bray Wyatt. I even thought Randy Orton could be it too. This should be a good match. A possible match of the night candidate. I’m going with Black to win here. Both guys could use the win but Black needs it more as one of the new superstars on the main roster.

My Pick: Aleister Black

Roman Reigns and The Undertaker vs Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in a No Holds Barred Tag Team Match

The Undertaker shocked us all when he appeared a few weeks ago and got right in the middle of this feud. Why do I have a feeling Taker will turn on Roman and set up another Roman vs Taker match. That’s probably a long shot but you just never know. Taker and Roman win here. Taker needs to get that bad taste out of his mouth after that awful match with Goldberg.

My Pick: Roman Reigns and The Undertaker

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch vs Lacey Evans and Baron Corbin in a Winner Take all Extreme Rules Match. Both the Universal and Raw Woman’s Title is on the line

This will be a very interesting match. It will either be really good or a train wreck. Lacey and Corbin have lost all their title opportunities up to this point. They shouldn’t even be in the title picture. With no other real challengers, Lacey and Corbin are in this by default. I don’t know why WWE is pushing Seth and Becky’s relationship so hard. They even got a shirt out for Seth that says The Man’s Man. That’s pretty lame. Plus their chemistry on screen is off. They will get it together come Sunday. No way I see them losing their titles here.

My Pick: Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins

Up next is Jared with his selections

Jared’s Extreme Rules Picks

Rollins and Lynch vs. Corbin and Evans Winners Take All: I think it’s pretty obvious that Seth and Becky will retain their titles. I just can’t see it happening any other way.

Kingston vs. Joe WWE Title: Kind of the same as Seth and Becky, except Joe, hasn’t been hyped as much for this match. I think Kofi retains.

Reigns and Undertaker vs. McMahon and McIntyre: I actually believe Shane and Drew will win this one. They’re going to have something up their sleeve like every time, but I have a sneaky feeling they will win this one.

Ricochet vs. Styles U.S. Title: I believe it’s time for AJ Styles to have another title run. Plus, the Club is back together. I definitely think they will get a big push, so that means the Phenomenal One will be your next United States Champion.

Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley Last Man Standing: I think this will be the match of the night. I just have a feeling something is going down. Strowman will win this thing and hopefully get back into a title picture very soon.

Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross Smackdown Women’s Title: I think Nikki will cost Alexa again, which will lead to a Cross and Alexa feud.

Bryan and Rowan vs. New Day vs. Heavy Machinery Smackdown Tag Team Titles: I see Bryan and Rowan retaining their titles. This will probably be the least exciting match of the night.

Aleister Black vs Cesaro: Allister Black vs. Cesaro: This is the hardest decision for me. I feel like this match could go either way and could be a huge push for both of them. I’m going to choose Aleister this time around.

Gulak vs. Nese Cruiserweight Title: I see Gulak retaining. It’s just too early for him to lose the title he just won.
