Mount St. Mary’s University Women’s Tennis Shines at George Mason Invitational
Mount St. Mary’s University women’s tennis saw Eirini Tsakiri go 4-0 at the George Mason Invitational on Oct. 10, 2026, in Fairfax, Virginia. Tsakiri won both of her singles matches and both of her doubles matches as the Mountaineers went 3-4 in doubles play.
Mount St. Mary’s University competed against Delaware State in the first round and George Mason in the second round. The Mountaineers won five of seven singles matches against Delaware State and five of eight against George Mason.
Tsakiri leads Mount St. Mary’s University women’s tennis
Tsakiri and Anya Rosenbach were the only Mount St. Mary’s doubles pair to win both matches. The duo defeated Kamora Helton and Maite Bou Safont, 7-5, before earning a 6-2 victory over Noelle Talarek and Ravaka Noemie Ramanantoanina.
Emma Perkins, Anna Barlini and Kaajal Ramisetty each went 2-0 in singles play. Venus Tang and Margherita Trolese each went 1-1 in singles, while Perkins and Barlini went 1-1 together in doubles and Tang and Trolese also went 1-1 as a pair.
Ramisetty and Emma Kaden went 0-1 in doubles. Kaden went 0-2 in singles, while Rosenbach lost her singles match against Gray Feaster.
Sunday matches canceled because of weather
Matches scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, at George Mason were canceled because of weather. The cancellation followed Saturday’s singles and doubles competition at the invitational.
